Yebber First Birthday Party!
Today is the PARTY OF THE YEAR for Yebber! I was more than happy to be invited and be part of the party as well! Woohoo!
Claudia had asked me to be the emcee for the night and I was honoured to do that. Hee... But stressed at the same time. *Sweat* Wahahaha!
The event is held at MINT, a toy museum. A beautiful place where a personal collection of toys were exhibited! I was there before on a guided tour and was really impressed with the collection of toys and not to mention that at any one time, it will only consist of 10% (I think) of the collection where the rest are stored in a warehouse in Ang Mo Kio. This is my second visit to this place and have to say that I was totally impressed and felt in loved with this place in my first visit! It will be a good place to held my 30th birthday there as well. Hee....
A guide there, Roger (I think) was kind enough to show us the rooftop as well, it was good enough to hold a BBQ and at the same time, if there are fireworks at the Marina Bay, it will be a great place to see them there!
We were there to report at 5pm only to find out that we are the earliest. Hee... (Got to mention here we volunteered to help out one hor!) Not long after, the rest of the working party arrived and we started to become movers. Shifting up goodies bag, laptops and many other things. Setting up the place was easy especially with the help of the special staff there. Without them, we could not have get all the things ready in the time before the guests arrived! So exciting! Of cos we still managed to find time to cam whore as well. (Click here for Photos here) In fact we are all excited and crazy for the party to get started!
Seeing Claudia and Darren so stressed out over their speech, they sure got me started to get all nervous as well. I have done a lot of emcee jobs, but this is my first one (The Christmas event don't count) for Yebbers. Got partners, sponsors and Yebber bosses coming, so cannot disgrace Yebber or my face leh. Wahahaha....
Soon the 3rd floor became very crowded with guest and it seems that everyone know everyone. Wahahaha.... It suddenly becomes like a big networking session! For me, I just stand one side making myself sane for the event! Wahahaha! I am quite happy to see a few people who I have know their nicknames and finally got to see them in real life.
Around 7.30pm, decided to start off the event and have to say, it was quite difficult to get everyone attention. A mic will definitely do me good. Lucky for me, I was born with a loud and solid voice. I think everyone did managed to hear me. Hee...
During the party, there are games like Bingo and lucky draw to give away lots of prizes from vouchers, Creative mp3 players, web cams and optical mouses. I was lucky enough to win a Creative Webcam myself. Wahahaha! A bit pai seh to announce my own name some more.
What is a party without food right? There was a buffet of some good and decent food. Have to say that even though I only got time for one serving of food, but have to say that my favourites are the mushroom bruschetta and the chicken. I did not managed to help myself to the desserts where are a lot of tasty looking cakes. What a pity!
The event went through pretty smoothly even though there are small hiccups here and there but overall I give the party 4 stars out of 5 so that there will be room for improvements. Hope I did good enough to make everyone enjoyed the program as well. Hee...
So again A Happy Birthday to Yebber and many more wonderful years to come! Hope to see many of you all in the upcoming events!

A Slack Weekend!
First I got a workshop in school. Since it happened to end early, so I rushed down to my gym for combat. After which, bitten by a lazy bug and decided not to attend the afternoon session. So decided to watch movie. Kite Runner is the choice!

The movie is based on Khaled Hosseini's best-selling novel about Amir, a well-to-do Pashtun boy from Afghanistan, who is still haunted by the guilt of betraying his childhood friend Hassan, son of a family servant. Having lived in California for a number of years, Amir returns home to Afghanistan to help Hassan, when his son gets into trouble.
It is a very touching story, some reviews did say the book is better so I am thinking about reading the book. I was touched by the movie especially the two kids acting. I like the way they shot the kite fighting scenes as well. Overall, I give this movie 4 star out of 5.
After which, we went for a buffet dinner as they were having a one-for-one promotion. However the catch is one table is only allowed one free customer, so it turn out most of the customers come in pairs. It does look like a speed dating event. Wahahaha..... For the price that I am paying cannot complain, the food is quite decent as well, variety is a lot. Hee.... To imagine that this place is packed every weekend and I need to make reservation 2 weeks in advance. Look out for my review in Yebber.
After a very full dinner, we went for a walk before we went for "FiRST / 80th Academy Awards Oscar Movie Marathon". Wahaha.... 3 movies back to back! Starting from 11pm to 6am.
The first movie: "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". For this movie, Cate Blanchett was nominated for Best Actress. Well since it is her second time acting Queen Elizabeth, she was very comfortable in that role. She had very strong presence in that movie and was really very good. The costumes and the sets were very well designed as well. The movie was boring and the always showing the Queen in an angry mood. Overall, I give this movie 3 stars of out 5.
The second movie is: "Atonement". This is the second time I am watching it and it is still to me one of the best movies as well. Nominated for "Best Picture" and many more. Can look at my previous review for this movie.
The third and final movie: "Charlie Wilson’s War". This movie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Phillip Seymour Hoffman. "Charlie Wilson's War" is the true story of how a playboy congressman, a renegade CIA agent and a beautiful Houston socialite joined forces to lead the largest and most successful covert operation in history. Their efforts contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, with consequences that reverberate throughout the world today. I tried my best to stay awake for this movie, but still missed out some certain parts. This is sort of a political comedy movie. With a strong cast, they managed to put on a very show for this movie. Overall, I give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5.
Thks god there was free flow of pop corn and drink throughout the screening. Wahahaha... By the end of it I was freaking tired. I think I broke my record of watching 4 movies in a day! Wahahaha... Totally crazy!
After a crazy Saturday, Sunday was spent sleeping the whole day and meeting friends for dinner only.
Me so tired now... Think I need more sleep now.

Valentine Day
I took half day leave today, not to celebrate V Day but to attend Qing and CY's ROM. Congrats Mr and Mrs Chua! Since their ceremony is at 3pm, I still managed to attend a pump class during lunch time. Hmm... Working out during lunch time feels a bit weird though. The class is quit packed. So surprised to see so many people there!
I have attended a lot of ROM ceremonies but it was my first time attending at registry itself. The place is quite professional but somehow I think it lack of a human touch. Everything went on very smoothly, less the JP did screwed up some parts.
After which, the usual photo taking and LLT is forced to take the bouquet of flowers when thrown. Wahahaha.... I dunno what that means anyway. Then we moved off for a Hi Tea buffet at Royal Plaza Hotel. Seem like a lot of people also took leave to celebrate V day.
I did not planned anything special on that day as I believed that V day had been commercialized with everything from flowers, toys to set meals all prices had increased to sky high prices. Lucky me, I won a pair of movie tickets for Persepolis.

It is the poignant story of a young girl coming-of-age in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. It is through the eyes of precocious and outspoken nine year old Marjane that we see a people's hopes dashed as fundamentalists take power - forcing the veil on women and imprisoning thousands. Clever and fearless, she outsmarts the “social guardians” and discovers punk, ABBA and Iron Maiden. Yet when her uncle is senselessly executed and as bombs fall around Tehran in the Iran/Iraq war, the daily fear that permeates life in Iran is palpable.
The cartoon is one of the Oscare nominated animation this year. The story is good enough, however as an animation, it needs more to fight against those PIXAR ones. They should have used the story and shoot a real life movie out of it. Overall I gave this movie 3.5 star out of 5.
That pretty much wraps up V Day for me.
However something did bother me the whole day. Everywhere, can see couples carrying flowers but how come most of it is being carried by guys. Since the flowers are gifts from guys to gals, then how come the poor guys still have to carry the flowers for them? Hmm.... So since the gals dun like to carry the flowers then why bother to give them flowers, they are not appreciative of it anyway. Gals, a reminder, they are your boyfriends and not your slaves, stop asking them to carrying your handbags and flowers when yourselves carrying nothing at all. Pity all the male slaves out there! Can't blame the guys as well, as I know most of them did it willingly anyway. Sigh....

Ren Ri! Happy Birthday to all!
During lunch, a few colleagues and I decided to go for a CNY lunch at a nearby coffeeshop, surprisingly the food was quite good and we got to lou hei (yu sheng) for good luck! It is also having a lot of fun having lunch with a big group of people. SO what we did ask for? Other then the normal win 4D or TOTO, we laos wished for promotion etc. Wahahaha.... In the end we shared a pool of money for 4D on 1488.
*Update: 1488 did not come out.*
At night, we had a family gathering at home where my mum had cooked tons and tons of good food! Of cos we have yu sheng as well. Did I mentioned that I simply loved yu sheng and could have them everyday! Wahahaha.... My aunt, cousin and Athens were invited as well. Hee....
After a good dinner, we have a game of blackjack. Yes, I know I had lost 3 days in a row, but I decided to play just for fun. At first my luck was not that good, however all turns around when I became the dealer. Jz after 4 rounds, I won around $60! Wahahaha..... I had recovered all my losses! I think my luck had came back to me! It was a lot of fun when you start to win money!
Happy CNY to all again!

3rd and 4th day of CNY! House Visits!
Since for the past 2 days had been doing nothing and eating, so Sat is back to the gym day! Wahahaha.... Time to burn off all the fats that I had accumulated. After a few days of not exercising, it does makes everything more tiring.
After which, we headed to Pearlina's house for a New Year visit cum dinner. Wahaha... It was a lot of fun and had a good teriyaki dinner as well, all prepared by Jason. Wow! I am impressed! Hee... We played from PS3 games to blackjack, and the only thing that I can say is ... ... I really need more luck! Where are you my lucky stars? Sob! Sob!.... Time is up and we got move along as we had a movie to catch! Another of the CNY movie by Jack Neo, "Ah Long Pte Ltd"! "Ah la la long, Ah la la long... ..."

This movie is 11th movie for Jack Neo. This movie is about a black triad or gang big boss handed over his command to his 2nd-in-commander. When she tried to change the way how Ah Long (money lenders) work, he tried to take back his position again. Of cos there is a side story of how the lady big boss tries to get herself a husband.
Erhh.... Casting Mark Lee as the sissy Jojo Fang is the prefect choice and he provided 90% of the humor in this movie, but then Fann Wong as the gangster... Hmm.... I dunno, I will sit on the fence for this. There are some funny moments and jokes but most of it fall pretty flat. I think the movie is trying to squeeze in too many things making the plot a bit thin and sometimes not focus. Not saying the Jack Neo lost his touch but something is missing this time round and I really cannot connect with the movie this time unlike this other movies like Homerun or I not Stupid. I also think the movie is too long already, till it gets too draggy in the middle of the show. Overall, I give this movie 2.5 star out of 5. Local movie must support ok!
Sunday is the long awaited Yebbers outing. Hee... This time held at Claudia's house and got to meet a few new poeple like LIC aka Brad and met up with the usual suspects as well. After some pizzas (Thks Claudia), we started out little game of Blackjack (Yes! My 3rd time), and have to say... sigh.... I win some but I lost more! So I decided I am not going to take part in any more games from then onwards. Wahahaha... Donated some money to FZ's dinner. Haha...
After that, rushed to Marina Sq to meet up with LLT's friends for K Box buffet. Well, I was prepared to eat and not to sing, the food was lousy, the system got limited songs, the company was good less one odd couple. Haha... Dun say too much in case they are reading my blog as well.
The weekend was rushed and tiring and got to start work 2molo also. There goes my 5 days of holidays!

First 2 days of CNY, The Year of Rat!
The first day managed to wake up quite early even though I slept late due to watching boring movies on TV and to "shou sui" as well. Got my 1st red packet from my mum as always. Hee....
After which, as usual going to my grandma's house where all my dad's side relatives will be there as well. Before we left the house, Oscar was whining so loudly, that in the end my dad decided to bring him along. Hee.. Actually me and my sis were very happy that Oscar is coming along with us.
So reached there, saw all my relatives, did the usual chit chat. Glad to see my grandma again, getting older every year, but glad that she is still healthy. So collected all my red packets, got one extra one from my younger niece. So embarrassed to get from her.
After that, we decided to move off as I intend to go gym but then my dad decided to make a trip home first to drop Oscar home 1st, this means I will be late for the class, so decided to stay at home to rot. Rotted at home for the rest of the day. Wahahaha....
On the 2nd day, slacked a bit at home before moving off to LLT's house for a visit, after which, was thinking to watch a movie but then GV website was experiencing high traffic. Seem like everyone got nothing to do and also intending to watch movies as well. Next stop my home, where we finally managed to book tickets for the show that I want to watch.
The Diving Bell and The Butterfly

This movie is based on a French memoir by Jean-Dominique Bauby who describes his life after suffering a massive stroke at the age of 42 that left him with a condition called locked-in syndrome, leaving his only means of communication as blinking his left eyelid. With some help, he managed to complete the book. The method was for a person to read out a series of alphabets and he blink at the one that he wanted. One blink for yes and two blinks for no. It was a tedious process.
The first half of the movie was shot as what he could see and what he is thinking after he awoke from his coma from the first person view. The second half was mostly on his flashback until the moment he got his stroke while writing his book. The plot itself is very simple but then it does brought out some touching moments especially on the things that he regretted doing and regretted not doing while he still can do it. I am very amazed by his perseverance and determination to finish writing the book. At the same time, it reminds me of to do the things that I ought to do and not to put them off until a point where I will regret. The author actually uses a diving bell and a butterfly to describe himself when he is paralysed. Being a diver, I understand how he feels when he tried to say something but he is unable to do so. It is a touching movie but not one of those tearjerkers. Overall this movie is worth 4 stars out of 5.
This movie is only shown at Vivocity so we went all the way to watch it. Surprised to see the whole place is packed. Hee…. I headed to my aunt’s house after that, where I lost some money on blackjack, not a very good start huh? Hmm…..
Still got 2 more days to relax before the 5 days of holidays are over!

A special day!
Nothing much happened in the morning except I went for gym today alone (CPC again), got myself a kuku haircut (Dun wanna to talk about it).
Y am I at gym alone, cos someone was coughing badly, even dared to tell me that her lungs are coming out form all the coughing. In the end, I stopped all activities for her. Hee....
Since today is a special day, should plan something special right? Sad to say there wasn't, in the end we still land up having dinner with my mum and gang! Wahahaha...... At least I gave her something she never expected! Hee....
At night, we went to our "favourite" cafe due to some reason. Hee... After which we watched "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street".

This is a Tim Burton and Johnny Depp film again. They have actually worked together in a number of films already. This moive is a musical, a dark musical. So Depp as Sweenty Todd is a barber that was unjustly thrown into jail and his wife and daugther was thrown into unknown consequences. Pls note that in this movie, 85% are songs and quite surprised that all of the cast can sing pretty well.
Depp actually brings out the agony of losing his family and how he is just foucs on revenge. Helena being Mrs Lovett, brings some of funny parts of the movie, on her pie making business.
To me, this is quite a dark and gory movie with a lot of blood splattering all over. I dun really think this is one of the best musical that had been converted to film, compared to Chicago, The Producers etc. Overall I will give this movie 3 star out of 5.
Hee... have a fun day today! Time to rest! Hee...

Post Chirstmas Parties!
Yesterday and today had been attending post xmas parties by different groups of people. First my ex navy colleagues and the second one is by Yebber an online group of people that I know.
Well the 1st one is over at the west side of our sunny little island, in a condo function room. It was much fun with good food and great catching up with people as well. Had the usual gift exchange. As usual, I dun have any luck at bingo and did not win the PSP. Sob! Sob!
The 2nd one was at the east of our sunny little island, also in a condo function room. I usually dun meet up online frens. Haa... This is different, after the last gathering the whole bunch of people seem like fun people to hang out with. so this Xmas party also got good food and some games that we got to play. Maybe I was shy, did not talk to other people less the ones I already know. Haa.... The night also ended with bingo, me did not play as I was the one spinning the balls out. Haa...
Well finally all Xmas celebrations are over, I got lots of presents at home now. Hee... Need to unwrap and pack them up. Looking forward to counting down for New Year! Heee....

A Christmas Party with a twist!
Merry Christmas to all! May joy and peace be with you! Ho! Ho! Ho!
This year, Pearlina held a housewarming cum potluck party at her home. So we all are invited. So long ago we decided to prepare agar agar and potato salad, well cos they are simple to made. I was forced to make the potato salad. Hee...
So we all went with different kind of food and took tons of photos. The food was food, a lot of variety of food and all are simply good even though there are some ready cook food. But there was a twist! Since we decided to watch the Warlords, I was bz trying to book the tickets, then suddenly I walked out of the room, they are playing PS3 and I was asked to take over and LOST! Sigh... then there is a forfeit where I need to be blindfolded. They had prepared some combination of food for me, then tickled me, the surprise was out when I removed my blindfold.
There was a BIRTHDAY CAKE sitting right in front of me, on the cake written "Happy Birthday Ah-Bui". Oh boy was I surprised and touched! This is the 1st time ever I got a surprise birthday cake in my life! Hee... This was planned by LLT and Pearlina. Haa... It was a good one! I really was not prepared for it! Really Thks! I loved SURPRISES!
After whic, gift exchange, and we went for movie.
Overall, it was a good xmas celebration! I got a lot of presents. So sorry that I did not prepared anything for you all as well. Next yr ok! Thks guys for the cake as well!

I am one year older yet again!
Yes! 28 years ago today, I was born! Hee...
So LLT planned the whole plan today and I am jz supposed to follow her!
Hee... After yesterday short discussion, I managed to guessed what she intend to do this morning! Prawn fishing! Hee... So we went to the one near Bishan Park and bought 3 hours of time for fishing, with bait and net, off we went. It was fun! Cos the whole place was near empty and we have 4 ponds to choose from. Within 1st 15 mins, I already got my 1st prawn! Wow! The prawn is big! However my luck did not last long. After 2.5 hors, we only caught 10 prawns, while another uncle caught one after another prawns. Sigh. We not skillful enough but it was fun! Let do it again!
After which, we decided to cook the prawns but somehow dunno how to kill the still jumping prawns, in the end, gave up the idea and decided to keep them in the freezer. After which, went to collect something.
Decided to watch a show (National Treasure: Book of Secrets) since we got some spare time in our hands. I will post the review some other time.
Dinner at a Jap BBQ place at Chijmes, Gyu-Kaku. Good but expensive place where we get to cook our food. Fun! Hee... Sorry we did not go to the place that you originally wanna to bring me, I scare that place very expensive leh. Hee....
After which did some window shopping and then rushed home before midnight to cut my birthday cake with my family! Hee...
The day was spent with fun! Thks LLT for planning it!
Really glad that my family and frens still remember my birthday! Me really very touched! Thks for all your presents!

Dinner and more Dinners!
Had a few dinners for the past few days. So happy that my frens still remember my birthday is coming and still ask me out to catch up.
Tuesday was my ex colleagues and boss who brought me to a new seafood place at Geylang near Kallang MRT for crabs! Wow we ordered a lot of dishes and crabs of cos and eat until we are full! Hee... A very nice dinner instead and to catch up with them as well. Haa... Thks Gab for the dinner treat!
Wednesday, met up with Danny and SK, my closest frens. Really happy that it was them that asked me out instead of me asking them out. We used to meet up like every week but now we only met up like once every 3 weeks. Meeting them is always something that I look forward cos I can talk to them about everything under the sun. Most of the time, they are also the ones that I will talk to them when i have problems and need some advice. We went to a new place that have steamboat. Not bad but then the ventilation is very bad especially we are seated in a corner. They gave me a present and I gave them christmas presents. Hope you all liked the presents ok! Hee...
Thursday, hmm... met up HW, surprised to receive an sms from him, will still a bit piss off with him over something, but then I dun think he knows what is happening anyway. Sigh... Think I really owe him something in my last life. Well HAPPY to finally meet him for dinner anyway. After some "who ha", decided to eat at Waraku. We were lucky as we after we were seated, the queue was formed and it jz grew longer and longer. Phew! After a good hearty dinner, and a good talk, we went for a little shopping. I feel that it seems that we grew apart as we got older. Hmm... I wonder why? Well sometimes I really cannot stand his attitude as well. I wonder did he treat his other frens like that or jz simply that me for granted!
After so many dinners and had not been hitting the gym, think I am going to be fat again! Haa...
Thks you all for asking me out for dinner! The though and the company is all that matters!
