Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

After the impressive first movie, I have to say that I am quite disappointed after watching the second one. It is like recycling everything from the first movie even the jokes. The plot is simple, with a lot of CGI, and a lot of recycled jokes. I think I am getting a bit weary for sequels and hope that Transformers will not be like one. Overall, I give this movie 3 stars out of 5.

Amy Adam as usual was great in this movie and I have to say she looked really like Nichole Kidman in the movie!

Terminator Salvation

Thanks to Starhub, I got 2 free tickets to watch the preview at GV Max (first roll seats some more, luckily I managed to find more decent seats when the movie start). however I am disappointed to see that Starhub make sure only certain people got goodies bags and did not even provide popcorn and drinks. Sigh...

Actually, I am not that keen to watch this movie in the first place. After watching it, I think I am right. the plot is simple, a guy went back to the future to save his dad but Skynet did something better to save themselves. A lot of action, a lot of explosions and a lot of shouting. Not really a lot of acting required in this movie. At some point, I thought it was a trailer for the coming Transformers movies. Overall, I give this movie 2 stars out of 5. Maybe it is time to stop the terminator series.

Good news!

After a day of waiting, I finally got THE call this morning! I got the job! Hee... I am simply thrilled to hear that, even though it does not pay as well as the previous job but still having a job is better than none. On top of that, I like the job scope of the new job! I am glad and relieved that job hunting is finally over!

I am going to start the new job in Jul, so this means I still got another month to chill out and relax, to get ready for the new job. My life is back on track! Hee....

Angels and Demons

After Da Vinci Code, this is another book from Dan Brown that I loved! I remember reading this book a few years ago and I actually finished the book in one seating, as each chapter ends with a cliff hanger and I just refused to stop reading until I complete the whole book!

However, like Da Vinci Code, the director decided to make some changes in the movie plot and I think this caused the downfall of the movie. I went into the cinema with much expectation yet I came out disappointed. I think to the fans of the book, they will be disappointed but to those who had not read the book will find the movie good. Overall, I give this movie 3 stars out of 5. I still think if the director stick to the book, the movie will be more exciting than it is.

I loved to finally see all the status in form and to see the whole Rome. This makes me want to fly to Rome!

Jobless = Freedom?

After working for this company for 1 year and 17 days, I will be jobless from today onwards. This is the first time that I actually will be doing nothing in between jobs. I had a few interviews and a few more coming up, hope that soon I will be able to find a suitable job and move on. Sigh...

Well look on the bright side, I am able to buy over my work laptop at a cheap deal of $1000. I am able to focus on my project meantime as well since I am very free now. Hee...

Star Trek

I am not a Star trek fan and did not really remember of the past Star Trek movies that I have watched before. Therefore I am quite happy that this movie was actually from the start and for those people who have not seen a Star Trek movie before.

After watching the show, I was blown away by this movie. It was fast paced, with nice action scenes and the plot was easy to understand. I walked into the cinema with no expectations of the movie and came out a Star Trek fan! It is that good! Hee... Overall , I will give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5. This is one of the best summer blockbuster movies. Of course, have to keep in mind that Harry Potter and Transformers movies yet to come!

Hmm... I want to get the Enterprise spaceship in LEGO form! Anyone to sponsor?

Taken

This is a movie that I knew I had to watch it but I just did not find the time to watch it. The movie plot was simple, a dad uses his special CIA skills to save his daughter. The movie was fast paced and lots of actions. I cannot believe that Liam Neeson is actually that old, for he is still in a pretty great shape for this movie! Overall, I give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5. Loved this action movie!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

With this movie, it marks the start of the summer blockbuster. This means tons and tons of blockbusters will be coming and I will have to watch all of them!

There was 3 X-Men movies and this is the first one that actually focus on only one of them. I believe in the near future, there will be more to come. The trailer of the movie looks promising as well. However the reviews for this movie were not that good. Nevertheless, I decided to give this movie a try.

I decided to watch it on a weekday afternoon, where there is no crowd. (Anyway I did not need to work at this point. Haha...) Have to say that the movie started off great, I found myself enjoying every minute of the movie. It is the usual action hero stuff but I never knew the background of Wolverine until this movie. Hugh Jackman is great as well with his kick ass bod! The movie plot is ok, but it seems to leave a trail for another Wolverine movie. Hmm.... Dunno if that is such a good idea. All in all, I will give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

A great start for the summer blockbuster season!

Cats: The Musical

Since they announced that CATS will be coming, I bought the tickets once they started selling it, which was 6 months ago. Due to my "job" then, we decided to buy the very last show in Singapore.

Since we have been to a few musicals, we thought that the start time will be at 8pm. However while we were still relaxing at Toastbox, drinking coffee, flipping papers. Suddenly I saw in the papers that the show was going to start at 7pm, I then took out the tickets and realised that the ticket printed 7pm as well. The time on my clock reflected 7pm, immediately we packed up and rushed to the venue, hoping that we will make it in time. Within 5 mins, we reached. Phew! The musical had not started and we manged to get our butts to our seats. The musical started shortly after that. Lucky us. Haha... Having such a drama before the actual drama itself. Haha.

The musical itself was good. The whole decoration of the hall, the stage and even cats were prowling around on and off the show. They are really like cats. Hee... The dancing were superd and of cos the song "Memory" was wonderful! The energy of the performers in the show were top notch as they danced effortlessly for 3 hours during the shows. Luckily we made it in time for the show. Hee...

Sell out!

Decided to watch this movie when I read a few good reviews on it. Did not know that this was a Malaysian movie though.

Have to say at the first half of the movie, I was wondering what the director is trying to say in the movie. I was confused but at the same time was laughing at the sudden songs break out by the actors. To me, it seems like it is trying to be an artistic movie, but the plot a bit far fetched. Still at the end of the movie, I have to say I do not really like the movie but I never expect this kind of movie from a Malaysian director though. It was refreshing though. I will give this movie 3 stars out of 5.
