First 2 days of CNY, The Year of Rat!

CNY came and passed quickly. This year is like other years as well. Boring.

The first day managed to wake up quite early even though I slept late due to watching boring movies on TV and to "shou sui" as well. Got my 1st red packet from my mum as always. Hee....

After which, as usual going to my grandma's house where all my dad's side relatives will be there as well. Before we left the house, Oscar was whining so loudly, that in the end my dad decided to bring him along. Hee.. Actually me and my sis were very happy that Oscar is coming along with us.

So reached there, saw all my relatives, did the usual chit chat. Glad to see my grandma again, getting older every year, but glad that she is still healthy. So collected all my red packets, got one extra one from my younger niece. So embarrassed to get from her.

After that, we decided to move off as I intend to go gym but then my dad decided to make a trip home first to drop Oscar home 1st, this means I will be late for the class, so decided to stay at home to rot. Rotted at home for the rest of the day. Wahahaha....

On the 2nd day, slacked a bit at home before moving off to LLT's house for a visit, after which, was thinking to watch a movie but then GV website was experiencing high traffic. Seem like everyone got nothing to do and also intending to watch movies as well. Next stop my home, where we finally managed to book tickets for the show that I want to watch.

The Diving Bell and The Butterfly

This movie is based on a French memoir by Jean-Dominique Bauby who describes his life after suffering a massive stroke at the age of 42 that left him with a condition called locked-in syndrome, leaving his only means of communication as blinking his left eyelid. With some help, he managed to complete the book. The method was for a person to read out a series of alphabets and he blink at the one that he wanted. One blink for yes and two blinks for no. It was a tedious process.

The first half of the movie was shot as what he could see and what he is thinking after he awoke from his coma from the first person view. The second half was mostly on his flashback until the moment he got his stroke while writing his book. The plot itself is very simple but then it does brought out some touching moments especially on the things that he regretted doing and regretted not doing while he still can do it. I am very amazed by his perseverance and determination to finish writing the book. At the same time, it reminds me of to do the things that I ought to do and not to put them off until a point where I will regret. The author actually uses a diving bell and a butterfly to describe himself when he is paralysed. Being a diver, I understand how he feels when he tried to say something but he is unable to do so. It is a touching movie but not one of those tearjerkers. Overall this movie is worth 4 stars out of 5.

This movie is only shown at Vivocity so we went all the way to watch it. Surprised to see the whole place is packed. Hee…. I headed to my aunt’s house after that, where I lost some money on blackjack, not a very good start huh? Hmm…..

Still got 2 more days to relax before the 5 days of holidays are over!

This time we are going to have a lunch instead as dad got to work later.

Going to have our old favourite steamboat again! Hee....

This time special as we had prepared something special for Oscar as well and he will join us at our table as well. Hee....

Time to go for lunch alr. Mum calling already. Hee...

Have a great RAT year ahead! Huat AH! Hope that I can get lots and lots of red packets! Hee...

My 3rd and final jab

Finally went for my 3rd and final jab for my combined Hep A and B vaccination today.

1st jab @ 10/08/07 - $90
2nd jab @ 10/09/07 - $90
3rd jab @ 05/02/08 - $95

As you can see, even the price of the jab increased. Really cannot believed that. Inflation at work again! Wonder when it is going to be working on my pay instead. Sigh....

Back to the main topic... By right I should be fully protected from both Hep A and B. I should do any blood test in 5 yrs to check if it is still effective. I hope so, if not dunno how much they will cost by then! Sigh... At least now I think I can go and eat whatever I want to eat now. Wahahaha!

A disappointing KungFu Dunk

This movie is ALL ABOUT JAY CHOU! The movie is about a boy who was brought up in a KungFu school and was expelled as he had offended some gang. In the end, he was recuited by a guy who make use of his KungFu skills in a basketball court. So care to make a guess who is the hero of this movie?

To me, I dun think he can act in this movie. His expression is the same throughout the whole movie. Nothing to wow off the effects, mostly matrix style. If I can see the stunts being pulled off in a real basketball court, then I will be really surprised! I am not impressed with the storyline, it sort of rushed through the introduction within 5 mins so that Mr Chou can some out quickly. The rest of the co-stars have such short screen times that I wonder why are they in the film in the first place. Sigh...

In short, the movie fall short of my expectations. Overall I give this movie 1 star out of 5. This movie is for hardcore Jay Chou fan. He better stick to singing then.

Luckily this movie is a free preview, if not I will not spend money on this movie.

Dunno y I am so tired today?

Maybe it is the gloomy weather.

Today had one whole day to myself. Hee... So early in the morning, dragged my lazy ass to the gym for pump and combat. I totally enjoyed myself in the class today. Funny enough, I managed to do it without any breakfast.

After which, walked over to the travel agency in the rain, to collect the air tickets and hotel vouchor for the holiday. The trip is confirmed!

With the gloomy weather, it is a very good time to sleep. That is what I did! Wahahaha.... Woke up in time for dinner and with an aching body! OMG!

Well that sums up my boring yet tired Sunday!

Yesterday, found out another of my fav, Ah Kun, increased their prices again! From $3.90 they increased to $4.20 now. Sigh... Think I have to cut down on that as well. So sad! Hope that Toastbox dun increases their price!

A special day!

One year ago the answer was YES! and it had been an enjoyable year, with its own ups and downs.

Nothing much happened in the morning except I went for gym today alone (CPC again), got myself a kuku haircut (Dun wanna to talk about it).

Y am I at gym alone, cos someone was coughing badly, even dared to tell me that her lungs are coming out form all the coughing. In the end, I stopped all activities for her. Hee....

Since today is a special day, should plan something special right? Sad to say there wasn't, in the end we still land up having dinner with my mum and gang! Wahahaha...... At least I gave her something she never expected! Hee....

At night, we went to our "favourite" cafe due to some reason. Hee... After which we watched "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street".

This is a Tim Burton and Johnny Depp film again. They have actually worked together in a number of films already. This moive is a musical, a dark musical. So Depp as Sweenty Todd is a barber that was unjustly thrown into jail and his wife and daugther was thrown into unknown consequences. Pls note that in this movie, 85% are songs and quite surprised that all of the cast can sing pretty well.

Depp actually brings out the agony of losing his family and how he is just foucs on revenge. Helena being Mrs Lovett, brings some of funny parts of the movie, on her pie making business.

To me, this is quite a dark and gory movie with a lot of blood splattering all over. I dun really think this is one of the best musical that had been converted to film, compared to Chicago, The Producers etc. Overall I will give this movie 3 star out of 5.

Hee... have a fun day today! Time to rest! Hee...

Cathay ups ticket prices

By Asif Ansar, TODAY | Posted: 30 January 2008 0841 hrs

SINGAPORE : Expect to pay up to S$10.50 on a weekend to watch blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince or The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

Prices for tickets at all Cathay cineplexes will go up on Thursday, adding to the rash of recent price increases including taxi fares, electronic road pricing and cooking gas.

At a media conference on Tuesday, the cinema operator and film distributor said it was raising ticket prices for films by 50 cents or about 6 per cent due to "escalating prices in goods, services, labour, film rentals and the Goods and Services Tax".

What's more, an additional 50 cents will be tagged on for blockbusters such as Harry Potter and Iron Man.

"The rising costs we have seen over the recent years is something we cannot ignore," said Mr Suhaimi Rafdi, the chief executive of Cathay Organisation Holdings, which has four cineplexes here.

The company had been "struggling to make ends meet" and had to jack up prices to "remain profitable".

Without disclosing details, Mr Rafdi said that the company had made a loss in 2006 and was expecting a "small profit" for last year.

Mr Rafdi said that Cathay would categorise a movie as a blockbuster only if it has an "A-list cast and/or director, a big production budget of more than US$100 million (S$142 million), is a part of a successful franchise (like Spider-Man, Batman and Shrek)" and open on the same day in Singapore as in the United States.

Only around 20 out of the hundreds of films released here would qualify as a blockbuster this year, he said.

So, with Cathay raising its ticket prices, will other cinemas follow suit?

"It's yet to be seen. They would probably want to see if there are any repercussions because this is a bold move on our part," said Mr Rafdi.

When contacted by TODAY, Shaw Organisation, which operates seven cineplexes here, said it would not be following Cathay's lead. "There has been some increase in our cinema operation costs. However, Shaw has no plan to raise its movie ticket prices at this point," Shaw's executive vice-president Mark Shaw told TODAY.

The other major operator, Golden Village, did not respond to TODAY's queries by press time. Moviegoers TODAY spoke to were mixed on the ticket price hike.

"It wouldn't affect the number of movies I watch. Fifty cents is not that much to me," said editor Audrey Wong, 32, who goes to the cinema at least four times a month. "It's still relatively cheaper than going to cinema in Europe or the US."

Marketing manager Irwin Tham, 28, said the hike would not deter him from watching new releases. "watching a movie at the cinema is different from watching it on DVD."

But film student Annette Heitmann, 21, said current ticket prices were already expensive and student movie rates did not soften the blow.

"It's useless because the rates apply during the day, when students have classes.

The price hike will affect students' decisions to visit the cinema as we have other alternatives", such as watching the latest movies on the Internet. - TODAY/il

Seem like I am going to watch less movies @ Cathay already. Hope that GV and the rest DO NOT follow them. Sigh... Wonder if the credit card promotions still remain the same in Cathay? How can they do such things now?

With all the production cost going higher and higher, I think next time all the movies will be under blockbuster already. Sigh.... $10 for a ticket? I know of the increasing cost but then they are selling their snacks and pop corns at such high price alr, the profit from there not enough meh? Think I need to smuggle more drinks and food into a cinema alr. Time to turn to DVDs or other cinema operators then.

Watching American Gangster....... Alone

Watching American Gangster....... Alone

Since I got so many movies to watch and so little time, I decided to watch American Gangster @ a cinema near my house on my way home after gym. Yes Alone! Haa....

This movie is about a bad guy, Frank, who took over his boss when he suddenly died. He kept a low profile and used a very clever but risky method to import drugs. The good guy, Richie is a guy that found a million dollars and would return, instead of taking it. he was pretty much hated by his colleagues for this. He was put in charge of a mission to find out the big boss of a drug called Blue Magic. The cat and dog chase start from there.

The movie is a very strong slow moving movie with Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe as the main leads. Denzel Washington had put on such a strong show in this movie that I was quite surprised that he was not nominated for best actor awards. Hmm.... Overall I give this movie 3.5 star out of 5. The show is really freaking long. I went in at 9.15 and by the time I came out it was already 11.45pm alr. Haha....

It had been a long time since I last watch a movie alone and have to say that the feeling does feel a little weird but then it does feels good at the same time. Hahaha.... The last time I watch movie alone was a Harry Potter movie @ the same cinema as well.

Boring Sat, Funny Sun

Boring Sat, Funny Sun

Sat was boring, only spend a very long time at Suntec doing nothing. Sigh...

Oh yah, one thing did happened, went to buy a new phone for my mum at a Starhub road show. Then when I reached home, I saw a Starhub letter. When I open the letter, i saw a voucher of $100 from them, for me to spend on a new phone. WTF? The contract for the phone was over since Oct last yr and it took them 3 mths to send me the voucher. Out of all days, it arrived the day I paid for a new phone and recontracted. Sigh....

*Update*
28 Jan:I have called up Starhub to state my displeasure. Now awaiting for them to get back to me to see what they had to offered.

31 Jan: Someone from Starhub jz called me up during lunch. What a time to call! Give me all the motherhood reasons why they took so long to give me voucher. Blah Blah Blah... In the end they offering me free caller id but I forgot to 6 mths or for 12 mths alr. Sigh... This is the best they can do!

Sunday was more interesting! Haa... Went swimming again in the morning! This time round, there is sun but it keeping hiding behind the clouds. I still managed to do 30 laps. Hee... Getting darker by the min!

After which, we met up with Bobo @ National Library to watch "Chesty Nutty Bang Bang: The Hairspray of the Phoenix", the latest Chestnut show!

This year, there are new additions in the cast. However this does not mean new sparks. A bit disappointed by that. I like the Pondon skit and the 88251 skit with the hokkien version of Umbrella. This year I have watched most of them stuff that they have spoofed so it is easier to understand. Haa.... Do find that this year show is not as funny as last year maybe cos last year was a compilation of those last 10 yrs shows. Hee.... However I will still catch it next year!

After which, met up with FZ and went for a teochew restaurant for dinner. It was quite good and got a homely feeling to it. The food is up to standard, we did not order a lot, braised goose, steam fish, a vegetable dish, prawn roll and yam paste. This place will be good for those people who like traditional teo chew food would be happy with the food there!

After which, a last min decision, we headed for KTV session. Totally crazy! It was a fun outing; we should really do all these more often. Wahaha....

Buffet time!

Buffet time!

Had dinner with LLT colleagues today! Had been expecting this since last Christmas. wahaha.... A big group of 12 people including me and we went down to this supposedly very good and "worth the money" buffet @ Mirama Hotel. However I was disappointed by it. It was sort of opposite of what I had expected though. I am really not a sashimi fan and the sushi are considered average. It is not really worth of the $33 I am paying.

After dinner, we broke off with the group and decided to head home. Had a detour and decided to catch a movie since there are a lot of movies that I wanna to watch anyway. Hee.... However since most of the movies are not showing @ that cinema or odd hours, we decided to watch 27 Dresses.

It is a simple romantic story where the female lead, Jane, actually had been bridesmaid for 27 times and was really becoming more of a wedding planner rather than bridesmaid. She got a calendar full of weddings to attend and can even squeeze in 2 weddings a night. She always had a crush on her boss but in the end it was her sister that got engaged to him instead by lying through.

This movie is those simple romantic story where 5 mins into the movie you will know where the ending is heading to. Wahaha.... I loved the part where she got to put on the 27 dresses again! Some of the themes are really too weird! I loved this kind of brainless romantic story. Haa.... Overall I give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

I am like the female lead that most of the times will go all way out to help out friends but then if I need help would anyone come and help me out? I wonder? Hmm......

One movie down, a lot more to go!

Atonement

Atonement

My first free movie of 2008, all thks to 8 days! A preview screening of "Atonement"

Ever told a lie and it changes everything especially to the people involved. When you realised what you have done, it is already to late to do anything or to change anything. It is too late to regret what you have done.

"Synopsis:

On the hottest day of the summer of 1935, thirteen-year-old Briony Tallis sees her older sister Cecilia strip off her clothes and plunge into the fountain in the garden of their country house. Watching Cecilia is their housekeeper's son Robbie Turner, a childhood friend who, along with Briony's sister, has recently graduated from Cambridge. By the end of that day the lives of all three will have been changed forever. Robbie and Cecilia will have crossed a boundary they had never before dared to approach and will have become victims of the younger girl's scheming imagination, and Briony will have committed a dreadful crime, the guilt for which will colour her entire life."

This movie started of slow and steady. While watching, you will asking a lot of questions of why this or why that? All answers will be answered at the end of the movie. The story is also a simple romantic story. The acting by all the leads are good, not Oscar worthy (I think), but good enough to be in top 10 at least. The director is good in using the same scenes but from different prospective, and when seeing the same scenes from different views does shows different meanings as well.

The movie a bit lag in the middle of the show and confusing but then the ending jz sums up everything. This is a must watch movie. Overall, I give this movie 4 stars out of 5.

Be careful when you are about to lie! Think of the consequences!

Come to think of it, I used to have a friend who lied to me but dunno how to cover his tracks. Sigh... I felt sorry for him.

A weekend of no gym!

A weekend of no gym!

It has been a very long since I had the whole weekend to myself and not going to gym for once. Haa... Nope I am not sick but then decided to do other things instead. Hee...

Sat was Sabrina's wedding lunch @ Four Season. Wow! High class place with a high class view on 20th floor. It was a small warm cosy event, buffet style. The food was quite good and got to catch up with some people as well. Simple classy even and Sab looked stunning in her red dress. Hee....

After which met up with LLT to do some shopping in Orchard, did not managed to get anything. Haa.... Maybe I am not a good shopping companion. Sigh! So we decided to watch movies instead, decided on Cloverfield. Hee..

It is all about a first person view form a cam recorder on a monster attack! This is a either you love it or you hate it movie. For me I loved it! I think it was a great movie although you will need to get some time to get used to the cam recorder view. It does make people giddy leh. Haa... The first 15 mins was boring and I was getting used to the view, however once the monster came out, everything changes! The point where the head of the Statue of Liberty landed in front of them, really set the pace of the movie! The CGI were really good as well! Overall I will give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

Sunday, went swimming with my fren. It has been a long time since I swam and got to say that I am back in my element. Haa... To top it up, the sun was out in full force! I am so loving it! I manged to swim 30 laps! Woohoo! Now a bit aching and burning though. Haa... I got my tan back as well. I need to swim more man! Well at least I started swimming again!

Next met up with my group of close frens to do some CNY shopping. However it seems like we did not managed to get anything. It has been a long time since we met up as a group! Should really do this more often alr. Seems like my distance with him also getting longer alr. Sigh... Sad.

So after a full day of swimming and walking, I ended wit a very bad tummy ache. Sigh.. Wonder what did I eat to cause such discomfort. Sigh... Me and my mouth again!

A working hard weekend!

A working hard weekend!

The weekend started off with a series of gym sessions. Haa.. Totally crazy to go for Combat Pump Combat and to think that I actually increased my pump weight. Haa... The instructors are also in crazy mode but then it jz felt good after the whole thing. Hee....

After which, walked ard to try to do some shopping, nothing much to buy though. CNY coming yet no mood to find new clothes.

Decided to watch a movie since AWARDS time are coming and all the good movies are coming out at the same time as well. So decided to watch Micheal Clayton.

The movie was about Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is an in-house “fixer” at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. A former criminal prosecutor, Clayton takes care of dirtiest work at the behest of the firm’s co-founder. Though burned out and hardly content with his job as a fixer, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton tied to the firm.

At U/North, the career of litigator Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton’s firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion, for a long 6 yrs. When Kenner Bach’s brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson) sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

It is a 2 hour thriller, interesting but someone was sleeping me at times. So tired hor. Haa.... It shows the ending first then goes back to the start of everything. This is one of George Clooney's best role! Have to give him credit for it as well. Overall I give this film 3 stars out of 5.

Sunday went back gym for anther session of pump and combat and then we are back to KM8 to chill out and suntan. The sun was out on full force. So happy! Hee... I really should do this more often! I need to get darker! Should I bring Oscar out as well? Hmm.... So many big dogs there leh! I think he will go crazy lo.

Crowds Everywhere!

Crowds Everywhere!

It seems like since the taxis fare have increased the number of people taking both buses and trains also increases ten fold. Well seems like everyone is refusing to take taxis any more, well including me. Haa....

However, now every morning, the trains are super crowded. So packed that I am unable to read my papers. I used to be able to do that as well. The people are packed in such a way that I can smell what soap, shampoo and perfume that they are using. it does not help when that guy is sweating like a pig. Haa...

Even on weekends morning, the trains are packed like sardines and yet the train only come every 7 mins or so. WTH? Trying to save cost by getting people to squeeze right?

Maybe SMRT should really re-looked into their schedule and have more trains during peak hours. Say a train every 2 mins or something like that.

I really pity those on wheelchair or those carrying a lot of things. They simply cannot even squeeze onto the trains.

A very rainy and lazy weekend!

The weekend came and passed in a blink. Sigh...

Sat, went for the combat, pump, combat (CPC for short). Long time did not do it alr, however still managed to put in my 101% in all 3 classes. Great workout! While it was raining outside, inside the studio was hot and the mirrors are actually steamed up. Haa....

After which, rushed back home for a quick change to attend a wedding dinner of Ronnie and Jenna, long time frens, and finally they are married. Found out that I am one of the remaining singles. Haa... Had a lot of fun! Nice seeing the whole gang again. It was raining when we are rushing to the restaurant. Food decent but the whole dinner was in served in a rush. Wonder y? Dinner ended at 2230H. A new record for wedding dinner.

Rushed off to catch a movie, Eastern Promises. Heard great reviews of this movie and sure it does not disappoint.

It is about an undercover police is tied to one of London's most notorious organized crime families. His carefully maintained existence is jarred when he crosses paths with Anna, an innocent midwife trying to right a wrong, who accidentally uncovers potential evidence again the family. Now Nikolai must put into motion a harrowing chain of murder, deceit, and retribution.

The whole movie was short in simple, gruesome and cool shots, which the director is famous for. The shots are shooting yet show the reality. Great acting from all the actors. Simple plot plus a surprised twist towards the ending. Overall I give this movie 4.75 stars out of 5.

Sunday was supposed to go gym, then sentosa. In the end, we slept, lunch, slept some more. Haa... Long time did not spend a Sunday like that alr. Nice and relaxing also. Hee....

Going back to work 2molo. Seem like I got no more outstanding work to do alr. Hmm...

Beauty World! Cha! Cha! Cha!

Beauty World! Cha! Cha! Cha!

This is the 20th anniversary version. Beauty world first came out in 1988. The storyline of the play is till pretty much current now, still manage to reflects the current situation now. With new actors, new songs, new sets and some new updates to the story line, this show is really one of the better local musicals other than Forbidden City.

The actors and actresses are really good as well. Especially the ones acting in the leads like ELENA WANG (Ivy Chan Poh Choo), DENISE TAN (Lulu), ALEMAY FERNANDEZ (Rosemary Joseph), DAREN TAN (Ah Hock), IRENE ANG (Wan Choo), DWAYNE TAN (Frankie Wong) and NEO SWEE LIN (Mummy).

Wan Choo and Frankie provided some of the best one liners of the play. Lulu being best at being slutty and she really sings very well! Ivy Chan and Rosemary did really good jobs in their roles as well, strong powerful voices as well. The only weak link is Ah Hock, a good effort by him, he looks and really acts well as Ah Hock but then I think his voice is much more suitable for pop songs rather than musicals, can hear the difference especially in the duets.

Have to also give kudos to the creative team as well for the new songs and tighter story, with a lot of current references as well like forgrin talent. Haa...

Overall I enjoyed the show, giving it 4 stars out of 5.

New Year! New Resolutions!

New Year! New Resolutions!

It is the time of the year to review last year and to welcome the new year 2008!

Let do the review 1st. So what are my 2007's resolution?

1. To lose 10 - 20 kg of my weight
2. To do my best in my current job.
3. To pick up a new hobby and a new language. Wakeboarding anyone?
4. To do more dives or to take up rescue diving.
5. To do my best in my studies, get good results.
6. To spend more time with my family and OSCAR.
* Above resolutions are subjected to changes throughout the year. Haa....

Hmm.... Well those in bold are the ones that I am proud of. Haa...

1. I have lost ard 10 plus kg. Hmm... trying very hard to get rid of the another 10kg but I am happy with the progress. Does feel good when people mention that I looked thinner. Hee.....

2. I am already 1 yr plus in my current job and did not job hop so I consider it ok. More new challenges (projects) coming up so have to work harder!

3. Managed to do a bit of rock climbing, that all. Sigh...

4. Only did one diving trip in Jun. Sad. :( However it was a nice dive with a group of fun loving people.

5. Managed to pass all my modules, so next yr only left with FYP! Can see the ending point!

6. Did not really spend a lot of time with family but then we always try to meet up for dinners etc. Brought Oscar out for a few events. Thinking of bringing him for some obedience classes.

So what can I look forward in 2008? Hmm....

1. Continue to lost more weight. Target another 10kg. Hope to reach 80 kg soon! I know I can make it one!

2. Do more dives (Really I missed the underwater world) and take up rescue diving. This year will be the year that I do it!

3. Complete my FYP with all my effort and by doing so, finally I will complete the full journey! Target a "B" range!

4. Spend more time with my family, Oscar and my relatives. This is most important. At least try to have 1 family dinner per week.

5. Spend more time with frens as well. Seems like having a few frenship problems this yr. Hmm... where have gone wrong? Catch up with them once a mth at least!

6. Spend time with YOU, you should know who you are. Haa.... This year went on quite smoothly with a few bumps here and there. Thks for being patient and understanding with me.

7. I will do at least another 10km run, to better my last record and 21km at the SCM at the end of 2008. So I need to run more often. 2 times a week.

8. In gym, to start some of the weights training together with the classes.

9. I need to swim more often. Per week at least once, 50 laps.

10. Do 2 relaxing / backpacking travel trips overseas. By Planeno less! Hee....

Hee.... I know I can do that above in 2008! Let stay focus ok!

Goodbye 2007! Welcome 2008!

Goodbye 2007! Welcome 2008!

Today being the first day of 2008, everything is a new start, start from a clean sheet of paper! Happy New Year to all!

Last min decision to countdown at a music cafe with a few frens. Still managed get a few ppl out. This time round, it was quite fun where got people performed for us, got lucky draw and got games and party packs well. Haa... So we were entertained until midnite! Unlike last year where I got to start to think of stupid games to pass time. Think all of us have fun there, especially a few people going crazy! Hee.....

So at the stroke of midnite, we all rushed out to see a portion of the fireworks at Marina Bay. As usual the fireworks are good. Luckily I did not go and squeeze with the crowd this year. Opps I spoke too soon as we had to squeeze with the crowd to the train! Haa... Still managed to save on the cab fare that way. Haa...

On New Year Day, intend to go for 2 hr combat but then when I woke up they already started their 1st track alr. Haa..... Wanna to go swimming but then no sun. In the end, decided to be lazy for the day. So went to catch a movie and do some shopping instead.

The movie, I am Legend. Heard from a lot of people that the last 15 mins is not good. Well.....

The movie is about a virus that spread out and cleared the whole of New York and only 1% of the world population is immune to it. So Dr Robert Neville tasked himself to find cure. Since the "vampires" only come out in the night, he and Sam, his dog will roam ard int he day, setting traps to catch the vampires, getting food and hoping for someone to turn up. So for 1st half of the movie only can see Will Smith. Despite only him alone, he is able to capture my attention. Now the ending, to me the ending is ok, sort of expected, maybe cos I prepared myself for it. Haa....
Overall, I give this movie 3 stars out of 5. Well the CGI does look a bit fake especially the vampires. Hee....

After which we tried to do some shopping but then did not buy anything at all.

Went home, I decided to complete watching my Heroes Season 1. I managed to finish the last 5 eps. I am done watching at ard 3am in the morning. Haa.... The series is really good but then I find the ending a bit disappointed where they all finally met up but they did not combine their powers to defeat Sylar. Sigh.....

Next up Heroes Season 2. I m so going to miss my sleep.

Long time no exercise liao!

Long time no exercise liao!

For the past week had been slacking from the wedding dinner to holiday and parties that I have no time to go and gym. Sigh....

So went for pump and combat. OMG! 2 hours back to back is really siong today. Haa.... Hmm... come to think of it when was the last time I did that? Haa... Well have been eating good things, think I really need to work hard to get rid of the spare tyre. Hee....

Before gym today, manged to drag my lazy ass out for an early movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks.

To say the truth, I dun have a good impression of this movie poster as I find the chipmunks very fake. I was really sick of the songs that they were singing on high pitched when I was waiting for the movie to start.

However after watching the movie, I have to say that I was impressed. The movie was about how they were discovered and become superstars while some domestic issues happen between them and Dave, their "dad". It is pretty entertaining but still this does not mean I approve of buying their soundtrack. Haa... Overall I give this movie 3 stars out of 5 for great CGI of the chipmunks.

After which, while someone was enjoying at Fish Leong's concert, I was enjoying a family dinner @ Paramount Hotel. BUFFET! Eating myself silly, it has been a long time since I do this. Cool! Forgetting about the afternoon session of gym alr. Haa... I now sort of regretted about it. Seems like to work 5 times harder from now onwards. Haa....

Post Chirstmas Parties!

Post Christmas Parties!

Yesterday and today had been attending post xmas parties by different groups of people. First my ex navy colleagues and the second one is by Yebber an online group of people that I know.

Well the 1st one is over at the west side of our sunny little island, in a condo function room. It was much fun with good food and great catching up with people as well. Had the usual gift exchange. As usual, I dun have any luck at bingo and did not win the PSP. Sob! Sob!

The 2nd one was at the east of our sunny little island, also in a condo function room. I usually dun meet up online frens. Haa... This is different, after the last gathering the whole bunch of people seem like fun people to hang out with. so this Xmas party also got good food and some games that we got to play. Maybe I was shy, did not talk to other people less the ones I already know. Haa.... The night also ended with bingo, me did not play as I was the one spinning the balls out. Haa...

Well finally all Xmas celebrations are over, I got lots of presents at home now. Hee... Need to unwrap and pack them up. Looking forward to counting down for New Year! Heee....

Movies update!

Movies update!

This post is going to be very very lengthy cos it is all about the movies that I have missed out for the past few days. Hee...

National Secrets: Books of Treasures

This movie is not really consider a sequel, more like a continuation. Again they are on another adventure, this time to clear the name of the Gates, his grandfather. So this time they even as far as to kidnap the president. Haa... All in all, this is a fast action packed movie. I give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5. Have to say Helen Mirren is actually good in action movies as well. Haa.... I can see that they will be more of the same movies coming out.

Good Luck Chuck

Hmm... The reason I wanna to watch this movie cos I termed it as a brainless movie. This movie is about a guy was jinxed when he was young that he will nvr find his true love as the girl will marries the next guy that comes along. This really come true when he grows older and he was always the "loser" being invited to the wedding. So the word got out and tons and tons of desperate women like to have sex with him hoping to get married with the next guy that comes along. He started his "charity" work until he saw a girl he like.

This movie is a bit boring and jokes are no longer new. I give this movie 1 star out of 5. Next!

The Warlords

This is one of the biggest Chinese movie of the year and who would missed it? With the 3 biggest stars, this movie is bound to be a hit. Well almost. Hee.... The movie is about 3 guys who step into brotherhood but as each of them believed in different things that caused them to break up in the end. it was a war movie so a lot of big scenes. Overall I will give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5. I do find adding in the love triangle sub plot is totally too extra.

A Christmas Party with a twist!

A Christmas Party with a twist!

Merry Christmas to all! May joy and peace be with you! Ho! Ho! Ho!

This year, Pearlina held a housewarming cum potluck party at her home. So we all are invited. So long ago we decided to prepare agar agar and potato salad, well cos they are simple to made. I was forced to make the potato salad. Hee...

So we all went with different kind of food and took tons of photos. The food was food, a lot of variety of food and all are simply good even though there are some ready cook food. But there was a twist! Since we decided to watch the Warlords, I was bz trying to book the tickets, then suddenly I walked out of the room, they are playing PS3 and I was asked to take over and LOST! Sigh... then there is a forfeit where I need to be blindfolded. They had prepared some combination of food for me, then tickled me, the surprise was out when I removed my blindfold.

There was a BIRTHDAY CAKE sitting right in front of me, on the cake written "Happy Birthday Ah-Bui". Oh boy was I surprised and touched! This is the 1st time ever I got a surprise birthday cake in my life! Hee... This was planned by LLT and Pearlina. Haa... It was a good one! I really was not prepared for it! Really Thks! I loved SURPRISES!

After whic, gift exchange, and we went for movie.

Overall, it was a good xmas celebration! I got a lot of presents. So sorry that I did not prepared anything for you all as well. Next yr ok! Thks guys for the cake as well!

Christmas Shopping!

Christmas Shopping!

I had done with my xmas shopping sometime ago but KH asked me to join him in a day of last min shopping.

Before that, met up with Noorul, HC for lunch and was surprised with a Birthday Present and they gave me a naughty present. It is a lamp with a post of a naked boy and the switch is the penis. Haa... So interesting huh? I think I will place this by my bedside ok! I will press it at least 2 times everyday. Haa.... Oh yes, I did give up going to gym for Noorul ok! So if I grow fat it is all her fault. Haa...

After that, we went to take neo print. It had been some time since I took neo print and boy the systems are getting more complicated. Got fan to blow wind into your face, got a movable platform, background that changes. Totally had a fun and crazy time in there. We ended up taking neo prints using 2 different machines! Haa...

Shopping started @ 4pm. Walk here and there, looking at his list, I thought we will sure shopped until midnight! In the end, we used only 4 hours to complete his shopping and got most of his presents from Sasa, Marks and Spencer's, Crabtree and Evelyn and Royce. He actually spent $160 on biscuits alone. I cannot believe that. It was fun shopping with him. Haa... Walking ard aimlessly and then talking cock at the same time. Since we ended early, we decided to have a nice dinner at Sanur. Great food. Hee...

Oh boy, I am so tired over these few days of eating and shopping and surprises. I need to go gym and I need to sleep. Hee...

I am one year older yet again!

I am one year older yet again!

Yes! 28 years ago today, I was born! Hee...

So LLT planned the whole plan today and I am jz supposed to follow her!

Hee... After yesterday short discussion, I managed to guessed what she intend to do this morning! Prawn fishing! Hee... So we went to the one near Bishan Park and bought 3 hours of time for fishing, with bait and net, off we went. It was fun! Cos the whole place was near empty and we have 4 ponds to choose from. Within 1st 15 mins, I already got my 1st prawn! Wow! The prawn is big! However my luck did not last long. After 2.5 hors, we only caught 10 prawns, while another uncle caught one after another prawns. Sigh. We not skillful enough but it was fun! Let do it again!

After which, we decided to cook the prawns but somehow dunno how to kill the still jumping prawns, in the end, gave up the idea and decided to keep them in the freezer. After which, went to collect something.

Decided to watch a show (National Treasure: Book of Secrets) since we got some spare time in our hands. I will post the review some other time.

Dinner at a Jap BBQ place at Chijmes, Gyu-Kaku. Good but expensive place where we get to cook our food. Fun! Hee... Sorry we did not go to the place that you originally wanna to bring me, I scare that place very expensive leh. Hee....

After which did some window shopping and then rushed home before midnight to cut my birthday cake with my family! Hee...

The day was spent with fun! Thks LLT for planning it!

Really glad that my family and frens still remember my birthday! Me really very touched! Thks for all your presents!

Dinner and more Dinners!

Dinner and more Dinners!

Had a few dinners for the past few days. So happy that my frens still remember my birthday is coming and still ask me out to catch up.

Tuesday was my ex colleagues and boss who brought me to a new seafood place at Geylang near Kallang MRT for crabs! Wow we ordered a lot of dishes and crabs of cos and eat until we are full! Hee... A very nice dinner instead and to catch up with them as well. Haa... Thks Gab for the dinner treat!

Wednesday, met up with Danny and SK, my closest frens. Really happy that it was them that asked me out instead of me asking them out. We used to meet up like every week but now we only met up like once every 3 weeks. Meeting them is always something that I look forward cos I can talk to them about everything under the sun. Most of the time, they are also the ones that I will talk to them when i have problems and need some advice. We went to a new place that have steamboat. Not bad but then the ventilation is very bad especially we are seated in a corner. They gave me a present and I gave them christmas presents. Hope you all liked the presents ok! Hee...

Thursday, hmm... met up HW, surprised to receive an sms from him, will still a bit piss off with him over something, but then I dun think he knows what is happening anyway. Sigh... Think I really owe him something in my last life. Well HAPPY to finally meet him for dinner anyway. After some "who ha", decided to eat at Waraku. We were lucky as we after we were seated, the queue was formed and it jz grew longer and longer. Phew! After a good hearty dinner, and a good talk, we went for a little shopping. I feel that it seems that we grew apart as we got older. Hmm... I wonder why? Well sometimes I really cannot stand his attitude as well. I wonder did he treat his other frens like that or jz simply that me for granted!

After so many dinners and had not been hitting the gym, think I am going to be fat again! Haa...

Thks you all for asking me out for dinner! The though and the company is all that matters!

Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium

Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium

This is one movie that jz brings me back to childhood. It is about Mr Magorium think that it is time to leave the world, well he is after all 243 yrs old. So he decided to leave the magical store to his manager, Molly. However the store being magical, it is able to show its mood that Mr Magorium is leaving. This leaves Molly to bring the store back to life. The message of the movie is to have confidence in yourself!

Overall, this is a heartwarming movie, I gives this movie 3.5 stars out of 5.

I still remember that when I was a child, I too had my imagination when it comes to playing. Well cos my parents dun really buy a lot of toys for me as well. However I do have a lot of Lego to play with. Till now, I STILL LOVE LEGO! Hee... I used to build my prefect car, house and a lot of wonderful things that I wished I have at that time. Haa...

At night when I sleep, I would like to think that my mattress is a spaceship that is able to bring me anywhere in the world when I am sleeping. Hee..... It comes with a glass dome so that I will be able to see outside when I am "flying". Hee... So every night before I sleep, I would like to "program" my bed so that it will bring me to my favourite destination. Hee... Although I dun do that now, I sure missed those times. Hee....

Well have too say I am always a kid in a grown up body. Haa....

Gold Class Experience for Golden Compass

Gold Class Experience for Golden Compass

Decided to pamper ourselves for a while by going to watch the Golden Compass in Gold Class. Hee... Thought that go and watch on a Monday morning would be a easy thing to do. Oh boy, I was so wrong! The cinema (of 24 seats) is almost fully booked for an afternoon show! Crazy! Seem like a lot of people not working as well. Well at least got to watch the movie in a sleeping position, so comfortable that someone actually slept! OMG! Pay so much to sleep! Hee....

So back to the movie. This show is based on the book "Golden Com[ass" Part 1 of 3. So expect the remaining sequels to come. Well The movie is about a little girl given a a Golden Compass that can tell the truth. They live in a world that the person's soul takes form of a daemon (animal). So the little girls assisted by the different people including a Polarbear went through a special journey to save the children that had been kidnapped.

The CGI was done almost every scene of the movie and it was pretty well done. The acting by Nicole Kidman was at her best! Overall I give this movie 4 stars out of 5. Heard that the book is much better than the movie. I think I shall go and take a look at the book.

Hmm... toking about daemon, if can choose I think my daemon will be a polarbear. All ready for war Polarbear! Haa...

My First Spa Experience

My First Spa Experience

Went for my first spa experience @ The Rainforest Spa @ Yishun Safra.

When first step in, was surprised that the whole place was quiet and empty, however does gave a very calming and peaceful effect.

Since it is our 1st time there, the guy at reception was patient to explain our package to us. Our package includes of

1. Outdoor Jacuzzi & Steam Bath
2. Body Scrub
3. Massage

So we changed before we started and the locker was well equipped with a robe, shorts, slippers and towels.

Before we started, we were served some tea, before we start our Jacuzzi. Since it was outdoor and it was raining, the hot Jacuzzi was a good welcome. Spent about 40 mins in it. We were given fresh towels to dry ourselves.

After which, we were ushered to our respective steam rooms.

While waiting for the scrubs, we were ushered into a holding area, where we can sit down and relax, with hot tea provided.

For our body scrubs, we chose sugar scrub with lavender scent. We were ushered into a room with smoothing music playing at the same time. While lying on the bed, they “forcefully” scrub the lavender scent sugar crystals on us. It is not painful but a little ticklish. All that know me should know how scare I was for tickles. Haa... After which we were asked to shower off. Our bodies were smelling great after it.

After another cup of hot tea, we started our massage. I got the Traditional Indonesian Massage while my partner got Indulgent Aroma Massage. For mine, it was done in a good and forceful way. It did relax all my tensed muscles. The whole massage was smooth and relaxing. The masseur also used enough force as well. After another quick shower, we lazed around with another hot cup of tea, relaxing.

The whole experience was very good and it was done in a professional way as well. It seems that we have the whole place to us as there is no other people at the same time. This was great as we dun feel like rush to complete our package.

Xmas movie: Fred Claus

Xmas movie: Fred Claus

It is time of the year where there will be Xmas theme movie coming out. Thks to FIRST magazine, I got free tickets to watch this show.

This movie is about Santa Claus's brother, Fred, from his point of view. So it seems that he is jealous of Santa. So started to be the "bad" one in the family. However, when Santa was born, Fred promised to be the best brother he ever had. So it turn out, one day Fred need his bro help, however Santa will only help him if Fred visit him in the North Pole. So off Fred went to the North Pole while Santa had to deal with an efficiency officer, threatening to "sack" Santa. Haa... Yes stupid storyline. So in the end did Fred save Christmas? Hmm....

Overall, it was an ok movie to watch during the holidays. I will give it 2.5 stars out of 5.

Holidays coming. Time to relax...

Hope that I dun eat too much also. Still need to exercise as well. Haa... Need to drag my big fat ass to gym. Need to run more as well.

Jz a simple catch up dinner

Jz a simple catch up dinner

One of my fren will be going to Swiss for a year of school soon, so we had a catch up dinner before he flies off. Hee... The response was quite good with a few people turning up. Dinner was a simple affair @ Thai Express and followed by chit chat session @ Starbucks.

We talked about everything under the sun and it was jz fun doing that. It feels good to have them as frens.

One thing, they all ganged up and forced me to join FB. So finally after resisting for long time, I am in. So what is fun inside? Erhh... I still dunno! Only know how to poke ppl only. Haa....

So LC all the best for your studies! To SP, Ben, HC, thks for the dinner, making time for the dinner and we should do it more often. To those who missed out, join us next time ok!

Spin

Spin

I was "dragged" to this Spin I class today. Well, we always wanted to give it a try but did not find the right class or time to do it.

Before I start, I was thinking how siong can it be, by cycling on a bicycle. Erhh... FYI, Polarbear dunno how to ride a bike. Haa....

5 mins into the class, OMG! I was so wrong! My legs are simple aching alr. Haa.... Super siong man! Then we have to go uphill and downhill, butt off the seat and butt on the seat. Driving me crazy man! Haa.... I think it is more siong than running lo. haa...

However I find the class fun, maybe can give it more tries to get used to it.

So spin class here i come!

Have to thks grace for introducing the class to us. Haa...

30 Days of Night

30 Days of Night

After the run on Sunday, someone decided to relax for a day. (Not me ok! Hee...) After a long time of tossing ideas, finally decided to watch a movie, 30 Days of Night.

It was a horror and violent show. Hee... Well nothing much to watch anyway. The movie was about this small little town at a certain time of the year will be 30 days of night, this means no sun for 30 days. At the same time, vampires decided to come and kill the whole town. Usually the hero and the heroine will not die but there is a twist to this one. Hee... Lot so of blood and gore. Overall give this move 2.5 out of 5. In the same line as 28 days later and 28 weeks later.

Will have to say that it is a small little break after all the training and running. Haa... Will be back on training soon! Sigh....

I did it!

I did it!

Having training a few weeks before the run, I still not confident of myself completing the run.

The target that I set myself for this run:
Distance: 10km
Target time to complete: 1.5hrs without stopping or walking.

I did not managed to get a good night rest, I think in fact I did not sleep at all, due to the excitement and being nervous as I have not ran such a "long" distance since the 21km 7 years ago. Haa.... Yes I know it is only 10km, but then I dun like running remember?

So woke up at 5.15am, got ready, decided not to have any breakfast less water. Met up with SP along the way on the train. The train is almost full in the morning, most of the people going for the run. Haa...Met up with Danny and his frens at the station then move on to deposit baggage.

Before I know it, started some warming up, moved to the start off point, heard them countdown and it started. Not really until we walked to the starting point and we started running. It was a huge turnout, reminded me of the New Paper Big Walk.

Since this is my own race, decided to do it in my pace. Thks to SP for running with me. Hee... Lost Danny after 2km. All was in my mind was run and dun stop. Soon reached the 1st water point, went past the 2nd one, can see the mid point turn. So far so good, still running! Hee... Feet started to get heavy, switched to more power songs, reached 3rd water point. Can see Raffles place MRT, after a quick drink of 100plus, decided it is time to open up! Open up my legs and headed towards the finish line. Saw the timer @ 1:19:30, rushed thru the crowd to make sure I crossed the finishing line before 1:20:00. Hee... Yeah! I completed the run!

Actual results:
Gun time: 1:20:00
Net time: 1:12:29
Average speed: 8.3 kph

Come to think of it, it is better than expected. Haa... Well we started some distance off the start point, that explains the time difference between gun and net time.

So I had met my target for the run. Hee... So happy for myself!

A present for myself!

SCM 10km Medal

So look out 2008, 21km here I come! 2009 42km?

Congrats to Pearlina for completing her first full marathon, and LLT, Cannie, SP and Danny for completing 10km. Remember we got 21km to complete next year ok?

New release of Body Combat and Pump

This week marks the new releases of both Combat and Pump.

Went for the launch and found that Combat is more challenging with all the combinations and I am getting used to it. A lot of kicks in this release. Haa... Loved the Rihanna track!

For pump, nothing much expect the combination of 2 count up and down followed by 2 singles. Still pretty much the same. The tracks are also pretty good.

Going to do this for the next 2 weeks. Going to have a lot of fun with it.

Friendship: One way or both way?

Friendship: One way or both way?

Recently, felt that all my close friends are gone. Reason being, I did not make the 1st move to ask them out.

I am the one always to organise outings and to meet them. I am the one to make effort to say hi when I log onto msn. So since I am the one always to make the 1st move, they always will think that I should be the one doing that? Hmm.... Even when people say hi to me on msn, it is usually they got something to ask me. Sigh.. Sad to say so but it is true.

So to me it is pretty much of a one way friendship rather than a 2-way friendship.

I dun think I am asking too much but then even a simple "Hi how r you?" sms sometimes does makes me feel good that someone still remember me as their friends.

Maybe I am thinking too much but then am I?

A day full of events!

A day full of events!

After my usual combat-pump-combat combo classes, it is time to face reality and collect my goodies bag for the 10km run. Yes, it is 1 week away! The collection was done in a pretty fast and efficient way. Used to think there is still a lot of time, now it is only a week away. Me going crazy alr. Haa....

After which, met up with a grp of frens for dinner.Got fed up with one of them, ask me to organise the dinner, did not give any ideas of where to go for dinner etc, then to complain this and that. Last min decided not to turn up and did not have the courage to inform the organiser which is me. BTW, she "tasked" me to organise it. I was quite pissed off by it, when I sms her, she then decided to turn up. Sigh... I ratehr she dun turn up at all. All is too late as the damaged is already done. No way I am going to ask her out again.

Dinner was a steamboat place opp Shaw Tower cheap and good. It was funny that you can only collect your chopsticks when you pay up. The dinner was good as I have not eaten buffet for sometime alr. Haa... Quite cheap as well, only $13.80 per person.

Next we moved off to KTV at K box. Got a big room where all of us sing until silly. So much fun! We shall have these kind of session more often without those troublesome people soon!

So tired after one whole day of events. Going to sleep... ...

Team building @ GardenAsia and Enchanted

Team building @ GardenAsia and Enchanted

Today is my company team building day, as this is the 2nd round that they are doing it so we have a smaller group. It is fun to get mixed around and get to know other people in the company. It is held in a very ulu location, Garden Asia. it is a nice big place for wedding and other activities, but then again who will have a wedding there. Well in fact there is a ROM going on in the afternoon, so people do go there for these kind of stuff. maybe I can consider as the location as well. Haa...

The team building activities was fun. Took something to warm up to the people in my group. We can to challenge other teams in 4 different activities. The interesting thing is I finally got to do some fishing. It was quite cool as the fishes got hooked up pretty fast, and I managed to hook up some big fishes.

The food was good and there are tons and tons of good to eat. Haa...

The day ended with a water bomb game where almost everyone was wet and my VP saboed with a big pail of water. Haa... Everyone got a prize and our team managed to get 2nd position overall. Hee...

After which, met up with LLT for a run @ FES. Long distance run and I am happy to say that I did not stop during the run. So happy with myself. Haa...

After the run, since we decided not to do any classes. I decided to watch a movie, decided on Enchanted @ AMK Hub. Thought that we can get tickets when we reached, I was so wrong, the shows are packed and we only managed to get tickets for the next show. Haa...

The show started off with normal Disney animation, about a prince and a girl who longed to met her special one. So they met one day and was going to get married the other. Before that the step-mother of the prince and a witch, decided to banish the princess-to-be into a unhappy world, New York, Manhattan. When the prince knew about it, he went to get back his princess. At New York, the princess met an attorney, who later feel in love and lived happily ever after. Not before the witch decided to take things into her own hands and want to poison the princess.

Being a Disney movie, it is sugar coated with love. Lots of songs and dancing, I loved the one at the park. Also the part where the princess would sing and call all the animals to help out int he cleaning. Haa.... The female lead, Amy Adams is lovely as the princess with big eyes. It is a sweet simply love story that tells you to follow your heart and try to look at things from a different view. Hmm.... Maybe I should go and get the soundtrack. Hee.....

Overall, I will give this movie 4.5 stars out of 5.

Beowulf! Movie or Cartoon?

Beowulf! Movie or Cartoon?

Caught this show yesterday and we got the tickets like a week ago. Haa... Well reason being, GV Vivocity celebrating their birthday and we decided to join in the fun, not to mention a lot of goodies as well. Haa...

So back to the movie. Prior to the movie, I know that it is an animation, acted by real actors, and it was a poem that was the backbone of the movie.

The movie talks about a demon Grendel was terrorising a town and Beowulf managed to slays it, but incurs the wrath of its seductive mother, which in exchange for a son, she will promise him riches and a status of a king. After many years, it came and haunted him.

The movie was pretty gruesome and good. Hee... The animation is pretty real as well. Overall, I will give this movie 3.5 stars out of 5. Worth to give it a shot.

Before the movie, managed to squeeze in a combat class before the movie and cannot imagine that the class is in fact packed with people. Hee... It was great energy there. Only it is a little bit too far, have to travel far to go to and fro.

Running Update: 11 more days to go!

Hmm... Time really flies fast and I still got 11 more days to the 10km run.

Siao liao la! What have I got myself into?

Anyway, had been doing some running with LLT and pleased to say that I managed to run up to 4km (without stopping). Hope that I can run 5km by end of this week. Hee...

Up to now, my average time is 7.30 min per km. Yes I know I am very slow but then I am never a runner lo. Haa... I think I will try to improve until 7 min per km.

My aim is to complete the 10km within 1.5 hrs, I hope. Haa.... So anyone want to come and support me?

To motivate myself, I got new toys to help me in running. Have to say that running with it does help me in getting my mind of the pain from running! Hee.... Good investment!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Jz finished watching this musical and it was simply wonderful!

Eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, and his two children Jemima and Jeremy alongside Truly Scrumptious and Grandpa Potts, all try and outwit the dastardly Baron and the evil Child Catcher.

The dogs came out quite unexpectedly and all very cute, esp when the first dog that ran across a stage was a MS. I wonder if Oscar could have done that? Haa....

Another magical moment was when the car took flight into the air. It really looks as if the car is really flying on its own. I am really impressed by it!

The songs are wonderful and catchy especially Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which had been ringing in my head ever since. Hee....

Great for both kids and adults!

Back to normal life! Lust Caution!

Back to normal life! Lust Caution!

Back to my normal life mean back to eat, sleep and gym. Haa....

Yes yes! I still remember that I still got a 10km run coming up. Haa...

After slacking at home for one whole day, I spent the whole afternoon in gym going for 3 hours of classes. Hee... By the end of it, my legs are so tired. Haa....

After which, decided to watch the hottest movie in town "Lust Caution" by Lee Ang. Haa... I decided to bring an open mind to watch this show. Hee....

The movie is about a girl doing spy work, trying to kill a traitor. Simple story but the director had managed to squeeze all the small little details out.

I did not watch the censored version earlier, hoping that they will release the full version out which they did. The sex scenes are really important to the movie as the director uses it to show the true feelings between the male and the female lead.

Talking abt the lead, the female lead, Tang Wei, I think she is going to be the next Zhang Ziyi. She put on a brilliant show and this is her first movie only. The male lead of course my fav Tony Leung. He is at his best. Think he will sweep all Best Actor awards again. Hope that he can be nominated at the Oscar as well. Well he bared too much to lose anything also. Haa....

The director, Lee Ang, have to say that this is his best work till now, even better than Brokeback Mountain, which won him his Oscar. Think this one will bring him to greater heights! I really wonder y he did the cuts for the censored version. It is really doing injustice to his own show.

Overall, I give this move 5 stars out of 5.
