Paranormal Activity

This is reviewed to be one of the most scariest movie of the year. After watching it, I totally agree with the review. I was totally scared out of my wits during the show. To keep the suspense, I decide not to say anything here. Go and watch the show. This is one of the best show I watched this year. I giving 5 stars out of 5 for the scare factor!

2012

This is a movie that says all mankind will end on my birthday in 2012. Good news or bad news? Haha.... I wonder. So it began a scientist discovered something that have to do with the earth crust movement. One thing leads to another, the US president were informed and decided to start a plan to save mankind. The plan is to build 4 big ships (like Noah Ark) and have animals and human beings inside so that they can be saved from the big flood. Guess where the ships are being made: China! Haha....
The rest of the story plot are preditable with a hero trying to save a group of people / family. The CGI were good in this movie. So for this movie, I will give 3.5 stars out of 5.

STOMP 09

This is the second time that I caught them live. This time I am seating close to them to see their sweat flying around the stage.

After the show, I was totally blown away by them, I was impressed by them. How can they make noise out of those day to day items? Their timing is good and can see that the whole team is working together to perform such a good show. There was humour in the show which makes the show more interesting.

The format was more or less the same as I seen them in the first time but seeing them up close makes the difference. I really like the lighter part and the brooms part. Of course the ending was really "BOOMZ". Haha.... Just have to use that word. With all the clapping really makes my hands hurt. it will be good if they ask everyone to stand and dance to their music. That will be really cool!

If they coming again, I am so going to watch it again. Hmm... so now I am going to make some noise (music) now. Hee...

The Hossan Leong Show

Finally Hossan Leong decided to do his own talk show and it should be time that he does one as well. I do have a bit of expectation for his first one man show and have to say that after watching the show, I was a bit disappointed even though it was a refreshing way that he did the show.

The show was done in a TV game show format and game show means there are some prizes to be won but to be fair some of the prizes are even done in a lucky draw format. Clever leh. There are some funny witty lines from Hossan but there are some parts that I really do not understand like what is up with the part on Whitney Houston and Maria Carey. Erhh.... that is pretty much a long long time ago joke.

Overall, I think it was a good effort for Hossan Leong but will I pay to watch it again? Hmm.... Hee...

Sebastian Tan show is next and really hoping that it will be as good as what everyone is saying. Hee...

Thank you for nothing

I think today is the worst day of my work day in the so call new work place. After a delay for so long, my boss finally decided to talk to me. I was wondering how come it too him so long to find the courage to talk to me, after all he was not that busy for the past few days.

I knew what was coming up and I was correct. He just told me the whole crap and I just refused to say anything since I already my mind before he spoke to me. I think both parties at fault but then again I do not agree with the way that the matter was being handled. His points are way too off and he kept crapping on the same old points. To me he is not fit to be a boss as all. No EQ, No IQ! He is better off making roti pratas as he has shown that he had changed his decision faster than a roti prata man flipped his roti prata.

Well, since before this I already knew what is my next move and hope that I will be able to get it done soon. Dun lose hope!

Any one got any new job lobang?

The Time Traveller's Wife

After a "long" break of not watching any movies (for 2 weeks), we finally got the chance to watch this movie which she want to watch. I did have a bit of expectation for this movie before watching.

The movie is about a love story between a normal human being and a time traveller. It shuffles from time to time, a bit hard to catch the pace of the movie if not paying attention. The last bit was expected and not touching. I am wondering why there are gals crying their hearts out. Hmm.... The acting is pretty good but the story plot had gaps which did not explain a lot of things. Therefore a lot of questions marks by the end of the movie.

Overall, I give this movie 2 stars out of 5. I really find this movie quite a bore.

Feedback session

This morning, HR Manager suddenly want to meet me and talk to me. In the end, it became a feedback session of where I am supposed to improve on. Out of the 3 points that was mentioned, I am guilty of one but the rest that was brought up was rubbish. I listen and tried to explained myself. However now it seems like I cannot fit into the company culture. Felt so fustrated! If my boss is having some problem with me, i hope that my boss can talk to me direct and not through someone else, especially we are working in such a small company. Sigh....

Think it is really time for me to start to actively look for a job again.

To think after the session, it was ended with "Please let me have some justification to give you a pay raise". With my probation coming to an end, I am waiting to see if they are really going to give me a pay raise. What a joke!

Bruno

Hmm.... knowing what I can expect to see in this movie, I was still shocked by the movie after watching it. Haha.... How can this kind of film be shown in the first place. It was crude, boring, not funny. Wasted my $$ and time on this movie. This had got to be the worst movie of the year. However got to admit that the lead was very brave to art in this movie. Haha.... I give 0.5 star out of 5. Ok, I admited I laugh at some parts of the movie. :P

The Reduced Shakespeare Company's ''The Complete Works of William Shakespeare''

I missed them when they first came to Singapore and decided to watch their show when they came again. I am not a big fan of literature and Shakespeare, knowing a few stories only. Therefore, with little expectation, I was pretty much surprised after watching the show. The energy of the 3 people were so good that they managed to reacted all or most of the stories.

It started a bit difficult to understand their accent initially, after a while, I got used to it,and began to enjoy the whole show. I have to say that if I were to see this when I was in my secondary school days, i would have loved literature. Haha....

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

This is one of the movies that I have to watch it this summer (Well since I am a big Harry Potter fan) and to prepare myself for this movie, I re-read the book before watching the movie. This is based on the 6the book of the Harry Potter series.

After watching the movie, I have to say that the movie managed to stay pretty faithful to the book but still I think the director should not omit some of the linking storylines, making the movie's flow not very smooth. Overall, I am still happy with the movie and going to give it 4 stars out of 5. They are going to break the last book into 2 parts, hope that this is going to be good.

A Frozen Flower

This is a movie that came with not really good reviews and yet I still go and wstch it. Another gay korean movie, well not really, there was a lady involved in the love triangle. It was a bit boring for me. Going to give it 2 stars out of 5.

10 years already!

Today went for a gathering with my Navy buddies @ BrewWorks whom we had stayed together and "suffered" for 11 mths! It happen that this year is our 10th year anniversary!

Other than catching up with each other and updating each other what we had been up to, it seems that a lot of us also became daddies and started talking about children! Haha.... Seems like a lot of us are also not in the service any more, and there is a few coming out soon as well.

It was fun and glad to see that most of the people actually made it a point to turn up at east even for a while! It really makes me think of the good old days where I used to "suffer" there! Even now they are still laughing that I am the slow runner when doing our 5BX in the morning!

From the organisers, this is a warm up, seems like there will be another even at the end of the year! Sounds good to me! Hee...

High Voltage

I decided to watch this movie based on good reviews. Apparently this is a sequel and I had not watch the first movie. It was a bit unbelievable for me when the heart was taken out and to be replaced by a battery and yet the male lead can do all the actions and sex in order to leave. Haha... sex = friction to cause electricity. Haha... A lot of action in this movie. For me, it was pretty good movie and I am going to give it 4 stars out of 5 for the crude humor and action! Haha....

Own Time Own Target

Did not managed to watch this play when it was first out last year, so when they decided to restage it this year, got tickets to watch this. It should be interesting as it talks about army life. Hee....

The play was made of of 2 stories, both army related. For the first story, I found it a bit draggy but the plot was interesting. For the second one, it was really funny but a little too far fetched. Overall, it was an "ok" play which had a few good laughs and brought back a lot of memories as well. I think there is a bit too much use of swear words, so much so that I overheard a lady asking her husband why are there so many swear words used? Haha....

This play is good for those below 18 and about to go into army to go and watch it. It might put them in a relax mode before they got enlisted. Hee....

Seem like there is a few more plays coming up. Anyone want to go and watch it with me? Hee....

1 week already!

1 week into the new job. Started to warm up to the colleagues, all of them seems good to and easy to work with. Hope this will continue on.

Work wise, I am still going through most of the things that I am supposed to do. Still in honeymoon period lo. Hee... Still got a lot of things to know and learn from. Hope that I am about to handle all the stuff I am going to take care off.

The only thing that I want to "complain" is the location of the office is far. Takes about 2 hours to and fro from home. Dun think I can make to gym so often after work now. :(

My first day at work

Today is my first day at new work. It went pretty work. Nothing much there for me to do on my first day (Read: BORING!) as I do not have laptop yet. It seems like something went wrong with the laptop order and it will only arrive next week. Hee... Same for my new company phone as well.

All the new colleagues seems nice and friendly. I think I will need to get used to the new office culture. Seem like there are a few collegues that also just joined the company less than 3 months ago, so can say half of the company is pretty new. Hee...

The trip to home and back home was pretty uneventful, however I think I need to find a new way as changing from a bus to a train to bus is taking too much time and money. Maybe it is time to make use of the car allowance? Hee....

Leaving the office at 6pm also means that I am unable to attend my usual 6.30pm gym classes. Have to think of alternative ways to make use of my gym membership. Hee...

Ok, I will need to go to sleep now as I need to wake up early every day now, have to get used to it leh after slacking so long. Yawn!

A "newbie" Polarbear

New Month, New Beginning

Today marks another new month also another new beginning for me as I will be starting on my new job in another few hours time. I am now keying this as I could not go to sleep, due to excitement maybe.

I have been slacking for the past 2 months plus and sort of getting used to the slacking life. Haha.... I am now a bit afraid to start work as I do not know what to expect and I also feel a bit rusty at things as well.

I am also excited to know new people and to work in a new environment as well. Hope things will work out for me this time and there will be no issues too big for me handle as well. I think I also need to really understand the job scope and see what I really need to do for the next 3 months.

So I assume with the new job, it is going to bring new changes into my life. Let's hope that the changes is not going to be too big. One thing for sure, I will not be attending my usual 6.30pm gym classes. :(

I think I better end now as I really need to go and sleep and wake up early later as I really dun want to be late on my first day right? Hee...

So wish me luck!
